An honest comparison
Why use a CSSBuy spreadsheet
Agent comparisons are usually written by people who want you to pick one. This page is structured to be harder to abuse: first what every agent does identically, then what CSSBuy actually does differently, then the cases where you should go elsewhere.
Part one: what every agent does the same
If a comparison sells you one of these as a special feature, the comparison is selling you something. All of it is table stakes.
Buying on your behalf
Every agent takes a link, pays a Chinese seller and receives the goods. This is the definition of the category, not a differentiator.
A warehouse and consolidation
All of them hold your items and combine several orders into one international parcel. The free storage period varies. The mechanism does not.
Photos of what arrived
Every serious agent photographs incoming goods. How many photos, how detailed and whether extra angles cost money is where they differ.
A choice of shipping lines
They all resell the same underlying carriers. An agent that looks dramatically cheaper on freight is usually quoting a slower line, not a better deal.
Part two: what CSSBuy does differently
Four things that are genuinely specific, taken from CSSBuy's own published material on 3 September 2026 rather than from anybody's ranking.
A long free storage window
90 days of free storage, counted from the In Warehouse status, extendable per order for a monthly fee. On the long side of what agents offer, and it matters more than it sounds. Consolidation only saves money if the earliest item is still sitting there when the last one lands. A short storage clock quietly forces you into more shipments.
The trade is that the clock is real. Run past it with no shipment and no extension and CSSBuy treats the order as abandoned.
Breadth of supported platforms
Taobao, Tmall, JD, 1688, Weidian, Yupoo, WeChat, No.1, VIP Shop and Dangdang, as listed by CSSBuy on its own Buy For Me page, read on 3 September 2026. The tail end of that list is the interesting part. Plenty of sellers operate only through a photo album or a messaging app, and an agent that cannot reach them simply cannot buy what you found.
Paired with Expert Buy, which exists precisely for items with no structured product page, this widens what is orderable rather than just what is searchable.
A wide set of payment methods
PayPal, cards, Alipay, WeChat Pay, iDEAL, Wise, Sofort, Giropay and bank transfer. iDEAL, Sofort and Giropay are regional European methods, which tells you something about where the customer base sits. If you are in the Netherlands or Germany, paying with the method you already use removes a real point of friction.
A published legal identity
Two named entities with registration numbers and street addresses, in England and Hong Kong, printed in the site footer. Plenty of agents publish nothing comparable.
This is not a guarantee about service quality. It is a statement about accountability, and it is checkable against public registers, which is more than can be said for most claims in this industry.
Why this spreadsheet, rather than searching yourself
Everything above is about the agent. This part is about the catalogue, which is a separate decision. You can ignore it entirely and paste marketplace links straight into CSSBuy. Here is what you give up by doing that.
It is in a language you read
Searching Taobao directly means searching in Chinese. Machine translation of a product name gets you approximately the right category and rarely the right item. A catalogue that has already been sorted into English categories removes that whole problem.
Somebody already bought these
A catalogue entry exists because a real order happened. That is weak evidence, not a guarantee, but it beats a search result ranked by whoever paid for placement. You are looking at a filtered pool rather than the raw marketplace.
The link is already agent ready
Clicking through opens the item inside the agent with the identifier intact. No copying, no trimmed URLs, no failed search because a share button ate the item code. This removes the single most common cause of a purchase not going through.
What it does not do
It does not track stock, guarantee a price, verify quality or check that a seller is still trading. A catalogue is a pointer. The seller's live page is the truth, and where the two disagree, believe the seller.
The honest summary: the catalogue saves you time and language friction, and it narrows an impossibly large marketplace down to something browsable. It does not save you from having to read a listing carefully, which is why that page exists.
Part three: when you should not use CSSBuy
A recommendation with no counter case is an advertisement. Here are four situations where this is the wrong choice, including one where no agent is the right answer.
| Your situation | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| You want one cheap item shipped immediately | The agent model does not pay for itself on a single low value order. Two payments, a warehouse step and international freight will often exceed what the item cost. Agents earn their keep on volume, not on one pair of socks. |
| You need it by a specific date | Do not use any agent. There are too many hops: seller to warehouse, inspection, your decision to ship, carrier, customs. Every one can slip. If a date is non negotiable, buy locally. |
| Your whole order is batteries or liquids | Check which lines will carry it before committing. If your destination has few compliant options, another agent with different carrier relationships may serve you better. This is worth asking about before you pay for goods. |
| You already use another agent and it works | Stay. Switching costs you the balance, the credit and the familiarity, and every agent in this tier is doing the same job. Move only for a specific unmet need, such as a platform yours cannot reach or a payment method it will not take. |
On rankings and best agent lists. We do not publish one. Fee structures, line availability and warehouse performance change without notice, and any number written into a page like this is stale within months. Compare on your own route and your own basket using the official calculator, on the day you are actually buying.
Decided it fits?
Then the next question is which item, and that is a skill worth ten minutes of reading before your first order.
