Change log

Updates and policy changes

Two kinds of change matter to anyone with an order in flight: what CSSBuy changes about its own terms, and what we change on this site. Both are logged here, with the date each fact was last verified against the source.

We do not republish CSSBuy announcements as news. They are the publisher and they date their own posts. What we do is track the handful of policies that change how you should plan an order, and record when we last checked each one.

Policies we track

Each of these came from CSSBuy's own pages. The date is when we last read the source, not when CSSBuy changed anything.

Holiday closures, and why they matter more than they sound

CSSBuy publishes closure notices on its own site for the major Chinese holidays. Chinese New Year is the significant one: sellers, warehouses and carriers all slow down or stop, and the effect stretches for weeks either side rather than days.

If you are ordering anywhere near a major holiday, plan for the seller to be slow, the warehouse to be slow and the carrier to be congested, all at once. An order that would normally take a fortnight can take considerably longer.

We deliberately do not copy those notices here. Dates shift year to year and a stale closure notice on a third party site is worse than none. Read them at the source.

Changes to this site

Site rebuilt around the CSSBuy spreadsheet

The site was rebuilt from scratch as a guide to the CSSBuy spreadsheet. Fifteen pages covering the agent model, the catalogue, both official ordering routes, item selection, common mistakes and a help centre split by buying, shipping and fees.

All sixteen category links were tested against W2CSpreadsheet and all eighteen official CSSBuy links were verified as reachable on the day of publication. Interface screenshots come from CSSBuy's own guides.

Removed template demo pages left over from the previous build

The previous version of this domain carried thirteen leftover demo pages from a website builder template, covering products such as hand soap and face serum that have nothing to do with this site. They were reachable and listed in the sitemap. They now return 410 Gone and have been removed from the sitemap.

Planning an order?

Check the storage and return windows before you commit, because both are shorter than people assume and both start without warning you.
